Keep Your Older Car Up to Date with an HID Kit

On the roads today are a multitude of different types of cars. There are older ones, classic ones, middle level cars and brand new ones. Car development continues to rage on, with new products instantly making older ones out of date, less reliable and unsafe. One such product which seemingly cannot be beaten is the HID conversion kit. The high intensity discharge headlights emit incredible light with very low energy usage.

You can continue to bring your pride and joy up to date with new suspension kits, alloy wheels, braking systems but one which is almost vital in today’s modern world is upgrading your headlights to match the other newer cars. Having HID headlights not only brings safety firmly up to date, but it also helps night time driving by reducing eye strain caused by poorer lighting.

The HID kit comes with easy to use instructions, which even the most timid of car maintenance DIYer can undertake confidently. In the pack you will get:

- Two HID bulbs (usually Xenon)
- Two HID ballasts
- Wiring harness
- Complete hardware
- Instruction booklet

Once you have decided on the optional features such as wattage, the lighting temperature which affects the headlight color and the type of reflector, such as projector style, you can set about fitting them.

Simply untwist the old bulbs out of the connector, twist in the new super bright Xenon ones, mount the ballasts and plug in the headlamps. A few minutes from unpacking the box and a few turns of a screwdriver later and your car’s headlights will be transformed from a dull and dangerous one to a safer, brighter one. Once you have tried an HID headlights in your car, there will be no going back to the poor visibility of that of halogen filament ones.

I have a 98 STi (is it version 4 or 5?) Swapped to my MY06 with 6 speed gearbox and DCCD VF28 at 1 bar.
first upgrade was, HKS Intake Air Filter and HKS BOV
Can I install parts right away and drive away? do I need tuning?
I’m planning to install BLITZ Exhaust cat-back. can I have that wit h1 bar and everything else is stock?
another question: are the HKS Sparkplugs good for my engine? which type should I get, if yes? (I have stock ones)
another question: I have a very heavy wheels on my car 18′, weighing each approx. 33lb (15kg), Why is my fuel mileage too low? with 20 liters of fuel (95) I get 80-100km mixed driving, is that ok? do I need to check other things?
another question: anything I should be doing first and before?

I have a 1994 Mercury Cougar XR7 V8. It started having issues when coming to a stop. It will cut off with me, but it does start back up. I have replaced the idle air control valve and gotten a tune up. After doing so it did run ok for about a week. Now it is to the point where it seems as if its not getting enough gas to sustain itself. So I thought that I may have clogged fuel injectors. I put a 12 oz bottle of Chevron Techron in my tank and that seemed to help it some. When trying to start the car with a cold engine is really when it acts up. It will immediately cut off at least twice. Once it gets started it will idle high (1000 to 1500RPM) and then go low (under 500 RPM) until I put it in gear. In reverse it will almost cut off and then catch itself. The mechanics in my area pretty much scam every woman they see, so I am not interested in what they have to say. Any ideas on what the problem may be? Serious answers please! Thanks in advance!

I cant seem to decide which car i would like to keep driving more. The Altima has about 170,000 miles and needs some works done (oil change, tune up) etc but still runs and when on a full tank can last a long time with no problems. The 4runner i have never experienced any mechanical issues only thing that has been changed is the battery and it has about 146,000 miles and im driving it now at the moment but with gas prices rising i miss the altima but its not driving at the moment, what do you guys recommend fix the altima, or continue driving the 4runner (slow accel, gas hog) etc.
